Steve Johns is the Senior Director of Government Affairs for Sutter Health where he focuses on a variety of issues with regional and local agencies in the Sacramento Valley and Central Valley.
Prior to joining Sutter, Steve was the Regional & Local Government Affairs Manager for the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
Steve was a previously a partner in a local law firm where he focused on land use, real estate, environmental law and government relations. He has also served as the Assistant City Attorney for the City of Folsom and Senior Deputy City Attorney for the City of Sacramento. He has worked in the US House of Representatives and the California State Assembly.
He has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Juris Doctor degree from UC Davis.
In addition to serving on the board of the Placer Business Alliance, Steve is an elected Trustee for the American River Flood Control District and is on the boards of the Midtown Association and the Sacramento Tree Foundation. Steve enjoys coaching youth sports, spending time on the north coast, finding the best value pinot noir and keeping up with friends.
Steve lives in the River Park neighborhood of Sacramento with his wife Pam, son Reyn and big yellow lab named Leo.
