Julie Hanson

Julie Hanson is the owner and founder of a land use consulting firm specializing in land development, farming and mitigation projects. She is currently managing the entitlement process for several large-scale master-planned community projects in the greater Sacramento area, with a focus on projects in Placer, Yuba, El Dorado and Sacramento Counties. Julie earned a B.S. in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Prior to opening her consulting business, she was a city planner with the City of Folsom.

Julie’s expertise in land use and planning spans more than 30 years. Her background includes managing and working on teams overseeing a series of high-quality regional developments from the entitlement process to construction, including the Stoneridge and Sierra Vista Specific Plans in Roseville, the Regional University Specific Plan in Placer County and others. These projects have brought balanced mixed-use communities with thousands of new homes, employment opportunities, schools, parks and permanent open space to the region. 

Julie’s community involvement includes participation on several boards and support of local charity organizations. She is a board member of the Placer Business Alliance, the local chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation and recently joined the board of American Leadership Forum-MVC. She formerly served as a board member of the Roseville City School District Foundation and the Sierra College Foundation and continues to support students through the Santucci Memorial Golf Tournament – raising money for scholarships. She is a 2002 Leadership Roseville Program Graduate and is a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum, Class XIV. She was honored in 2007 by the Roseville Chamber of Commerce with the prestigious Athena Award, presented annually to individuals who demonstrate excellence in their profession, contribute to their community, and assist women in realizing their leadership potential.

Based in Roseville, California, Julie is a third-generation Placer County resident where she lives with her husband, Eric. They have two daughters who are attending UC Santa Barbara and UC Law SF.
